2012 has been a monumental year for Mill Hill Music Complex. In April, we opened our new studio block, with six new purpose built, air conditioned studios.
We had four years with a portacabin for a reception, mobile toilets, and a building site which were horrible for us and horrible for the customers. Many of our customers doubted that we were really building a new studio complex and more than one said that they’d heard we were being replaced by a housing or shopping development. Well Ye of little faith.
These things take time and we wanted to get it right. We hope we have
Now we have the most up to date, modern state of the art facilities of any studio in London.
We have seen some fantastic videos produced in our video studio – check out the gallery of images here – https://www.millhillmusiccomplex.co.uk/gallery.php
We’ve also had some great work and fantastic customers. We were especially pleased to welcome the damned back for rehearsals before there winter 2012 tour. Captain Sensible even tweeted how much he loved our 50’s style retro diner reception. We also had a brilliant album recorded by Knuckledust to much critical acclaim. We had the Foundations in for rehearsals in the new studios, one of our first customers and in the last three months of the year we saw huge numbers of new customers.
We have also seen a whole range of new customers and new activities which we couldn’t accomodate in the old studios. We have a profoundly deaf group of drummers using the studios to learn new skills. We have ballet, drama and singing for kids.We have had two fantastic youth projects in the studio this year. We had another series of ten week courses for young people from SoundSkool and we had the ArtItUp project as well. The young people on the courses really appreciated the new facilities.
We thank all of our customers for their patience during the four difficult years. As a thank you, we’ve launched a little competition for our customers. We are giving away a £100 gift voucher for the lucky winner – click here for details – https://www.millhillmusiccomplex.co.uk/twitter-competition.php
