Need a Vocal Coach?

At Mill Hill Complex we are lucky to have one of Londons top vocal coaches.

Amy Whittle

Amy received a 1st Class honours Degree and a Post Graduate Diploma in Music Performance from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama graduating in 2010. Amy has taught at Mill Hill Music Complex since 2014 and has established a reputation as one of Londons finest vocal coaches.

Amy Says – I have taught singing for over ten years, to adults and children of all ages. As a Classically trained singer, gaining my Degree and Post Graduate Diploma in Music, I have worked hard on perfecting my technique as a performer and have trialed and tested many theories and ideas… some working for me, some not so much! I have gone through the ups and downs this can bring, so as a teacher am extremely sensitive to the needs of my students, hopefully bringing out their joy for singing in their own personal way.

I am a versatile performer myself, singing all styles of music, meaning I have a love and appreciation for whatever genre my student may want to study and know it is all about their core technique and then just being stylistically aware, opening your mouth, singing from within and LETTING GO!
I’m very laid back and easy going, but make sure lots of hard work is done in our lessons, but having fun at the same time.
Whether you are singing as a hobby or want to pursue a career as a singer, I believe I can help, and give some advice about the industry along the way. Currently based in North London, contact me now for more info on prices, location and to book your first lesson… let the journey begin.

  • What happens during the lessons?

Singing lessons are tailored to each students specific requirements. Each students lesson plan will vary slightly according to what areas need more attention. Lessons are based around the core rules of singing correctly – breathing, controlling all modes/colours of your voice, diction, interpretation and many other exercises that will help you develop the unique qualities of your voice. Music theory, solfege or band skills like ‘how to write a good chart’ etc. are available upon request.

  • How often should I attend lessons?

You are free to attend lessons as little or as often as you wish. The majority of students attend lessons on a weekly basis but it is entirely up to the individual.

  • How many lessons do I need?

The amount of lessons you need will vary from singer to singer. For a singer to benefit from lessons, We generally recommend a minimum of four sessions to benefit from the techniques, after which time we can review your progress and take it from there, but we suggest an initial lesson to work out an individual plan.
